Power & ENERGY



MLD Automation, ltd. has designed, assembled, and commissioned PLC, HMI, & SCADA controls for dozens of power generation projects in North & South America, Europe, Asia, and Australia.



Steam turbine/generator projects



All projects involve PLC based monitoring of critical turbine, gearbox, and generator parameters such as vibrations, bearing temperatures, generator stator temperatures, and steam pressures, flows, and temperatures. This data is consolidated in the PLC where alarms and shutdowns are generated and displayed on an HMI or SCADA terminal. In all projects, control of auxiliary systems is provided. On several projects, turbine governor control is provided in the PLC including Speed Control, kW Control, Inlet Pressure Control, Extraction Control, and/or Exhaust Pressure Control.



Geothermal Expander/Generator Projects



These projects include not only the same monitoring as the Steam Turbine projects, but also include governor control of the expander in the PLC and Balance of Plant (BOP) control including brine distribution, boiler or vaporizer pressure control, superheat control, generator excitation, speed control and synchronizing, condensing with air/water cooling, and high pressure liquid pump control.



Hydro Turbine/Generator Projects



These projects include the same monitoring and auxiliary system control as the Steam Turbine projects as well as Turbine governing to regulate speed, kW, Flow, and/or Reservoir Level.

MLD Automation, ltd. has been involved with the design and installation of numerous projects in automotive supply facilities to increase productivity, provide enhanced operability, and implement quality improvements. These projects have included PLC programming, HMI programming, AC Drive installation and programming, and Ethernet and ControlNet communication.



WATER & WASTE WATER





MLD Automation, ltd. has designed, assembled, and commissioned PLC based systems, including touchscreen HMIs to control, regulate, and monitor water filtration systems, water pumping systems, and waste water treatment systems.



MANUFACTURING





MLD Automation, ltd. continues to provide ongoing troubleshooting and on-call emergency support for various manufacturers in the central Ohio area. We provide electrical controls troubleshooting of legacy PLCs, HMIs, AC & DC Drives, relay logic, and any other electrical control related devices.
